Value Photos

For my design class, we had to take bunch of pictures, set them to grayscale, and print them. We were to focus on the use of value. I was too lazy to go anywhere, so I just took some photos of my house and outside my house. orz I just wanted to post some of the ones I liked. :>

And I am in no way a photographer. Actually, I think this is the first time I’ve taken pictures for the sake of art, haha.

Sketches

I haven’t been drawing much at all lately because I have so much reading this quarter but I totally blew today off. But I’ve kind of been doing random sketches in between reading, because my attention span only allows me to read for about an hour and then I have to take a break. orz

So I doodled a bit of Xanda, her parents, and Rauni. I’ve never drawn her parents before, and I really have no idea what I want them to look like, so those two headshots are just concepts that will probably never be. xD Rauni’s fun to draw, I need to draw him more. :U

And then Shilven and Xanda in wedding clothes, bawww. This is not the time for another Shil/Xan phase. D8

I like the wedding clothes from the Qin Dynasty and more modern cheongsam, but I don’t like the male wedding cheongsam, so I based Shilven’s outfit off of some picture. D: South isn’t super cultural in daily life, but they’re pretty traditional when it comes to rituals. And I am so very easily inspired by Chinese clothing. orz

I want this quarter to end, yes I do.

Blah, sketch

I like drawing Kasiefalah, I’ve been doodling her a bit lately. I need to do a proper coloring of her though. ): Well, she is only about two weeks old…

I… don’t think I’ll have much time for drawing this quarter. I have A TON of reading for two of my classes (hail to my other class being art~). Seriously, TWO novels for history? And they’re both like 400 pages? Do you know how much I dislike reading? How slow I am? How I don’t have the attention span to read a book? This is going to suck majorly, yes. :U

WIP’s Ahoy

I’M DRAWING A SAD PICTURE, BAWWW.

I am still discovering how to color, but I’m liking this so far. :) Even with my sad attempts at blood and scratches and stuff. never done this before And I really don’t know what a sunset looks like. Pretty much all the images on Google images were dark and I don’t want this to be like laaaattte sunset. Searching for dusk didn’t help much either. Or twilight because all I found were images of that stupid movie. :\ Then I realized that twilight is after the sun sets, haha.

And then there’s this that I started the other day, but stopped because I drew the above image and am very reluctant to draw Sefide’s MASSIVE AMOUNT OF HAIR. Sefide, I love you so very much, but you have wayyyy too much hair. :U

I finally drew them~ I freaking love these two even though they get like no screen time because Nadia is dead and Sefide is dead I guess too. This is not right because Sefide is made of so many levels of awesome. ):

Obviously, my plans I had set out in my last post… have not happened.

And alas, the new quarter of school starts tomorrow and I am really not looking forward to it. Break has been so nice~ D: But I have an art class (2D design or something), so maybe I’ll post stuff from class, I don’t know.

WIP

Crappy coloring for a crappy group picture! :’D

I always choose dark, dull base colors for some reason. :\ So it’ll probably end up like this:

Oh man, now I really see some parts I need to fix. I think the badly proportioned sketch looks a lot better, I always loose the feel with the lineart. :\ I hate drawing a group of four. Hate four. Hate even numbers.

After this, I want to finish the ToA picture I’ve been procrastinating on and color Karaya’s sketch because I know she’ll never color it, and then I want to work with unnamed story number one which I call… #1. Because I finally got around to designing one of the main characters, and I like it. Hee.
